Los Angeles Harbor Lighthouse, also known as "Angel's Gate" light, welcomes ships into the harbor of the City of Angels, Los Angeles. Don't let the name confuse you, Los Angeles Harbor is nowhere near downtown Los Angeles, but is located in San Pedro, several miles south of L.A.'s cluster of skyscrapers.

Battleship IOWA is the West Coast's only Battleship open to the public. Operated by the nonprofit Pacific Battleship Center (PBC), the IOWA opened on July 7, 2012 as an interactive naval museum at the L.A. Waterfront. It is dedicated to "Celebrating the American Spirit" through the preservation and interpretation of the Battleship IOWA.

Bolsa Chica State Beach is a popular state beach, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to its location south of the community of Sunset Beach in Orange County.
Public Information: The times listed are times that lifeguards are on duty for the summer. Other than that, the beach is open and the lifeguards are on duty throughout the year. No bonfires allowed. No dogs permitted on sand. Family parties are allowed without permit. These must end by 10:00 p.m. at which time the park rangers come around and ask people to leave.

The Drum Barracks Civil War Museum is housed in the last remaining wooden building of Drum Barracks, named after Adjutant General Richard Coulter Drum, head of the Department of the Pacific. This facility served as the Union Army headquarters in the Southwest (Southern California and the Arizona Territory) from 1861 - 1871.
Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden
Dedicated in April 1981, the garden was built through the generosity of Mrs. Loraine Miller Collins. The contribution was made in memory of her late husband, Earl Burns Miller, for whom the 1.3 acre plot is named.

The history of the LAFD Historical Society goes back to 1960. On October 13, 1960, Fireman Bob Foster (Truck 17-B) was appointed the department's official historian by the Fire Commission. Foster dedicated himself to the history of the department and was effective in his position.

In 1899, Edward Mahar built a home at 129 Front Street for his parents who resided in Wilmington. They chose not to move to the new home. Elsie and William Muller Shipbuilder William Muller then purchased the home in 1901 for his growing family. In 1912, Front Street was bulldozed and widened to become Harbor Boulevard.
Built in 1874, the Point Fermin Lighthouse was the first navigational light into the San Pedro Bay. Phineas Banning, with the support of many local businessmen, petitioned the Federal Government and the US lighthouse Board to place a lighthouse on the point in 1854. Although the Lighthouse Board agreed funding and land disputes delayed its construction until 1874.
